Best Week Ever....

Oh yes... The friggin best week ever. I'm starting to believe my lack of creativity and effort in drawing was a Nami premonition (A fortelling of something bad but inevitable) of the events that were about to transpire. Or maybe it is just Spring Fever, I don't know. Either way, this week has been quite far from the best.
Besides struggling with my artwork, even school things for me have been slipping up. But the real 'fun' started yesterday. We found my Sister's eight year old cat, whom had been missing for four months; in the garage today. Supposedly his body held up pretty well, he seemed to have went peacefully in his sleep.. So yesterday I was digging a grave. As luck would have it my stepfather (He's officially been seperated for six months now, but he comes over) had moved Sam before I got to look at him. I helped dig his grave and never actually got to see him...
And today, well today just topped all! It started off relatively boring, we goofed off in spiritual education since it's like our second to last week before being let out. We were playing jeaprody and since our captains couldn't come up with any names we were given the Saints (my team) and the Nuns. At the end of the class we lost, I wasn't really in the mood to bring my excellent game. On the board our comedian of a teacher's help- picked out from one of the teams a week before- the team names. 'The retired old struggling hospitilized iritable Saints' versus 'The Battle-hardened Retro party Nuns from South Detroit who like blueberry muffins'. Can you tell who's team he had been on before? Lol.
In the middle of class we had been interupted to see like a first grader's interpretation of the five weeks of lent and a walkthrough of the stations of the cross (Mind you it was also very innacurate, even the part the teacher read aloud after their little play was finished.) I'm a nerd like that. But all was going decently.
Nothing really got me as odd, I gave Cuddles some love. You may remember Cuddles from that one picture I drew; the one that had been getting into fights with Bloo and we were fearing she may have to be put down? The one my little dog whooped and all of that? Well I was giving her love, and determining that if I taught her basic commands like heel and such she wouldn't be so pushy, and in turn my family could accept her more.
I took her, Skipper, and Bloo outside; and got some fruit loops from an apple Jacks box (My brother's style of an april fool's joke) and went outside using them as treats. They all seemed to be doing relatively well, Cuddles would bark and get upset with me and run off, but when she came around on occasion she would sit as prompted, it was all I had expected, not because she was dumb or anything. That's the way I train, the simplest tricks at a time. But Skipper kept on stealling Bloo's treat. Bloo was being my star pupil, I'd been doing this with him before, and he got sit down right pat. Well eventually Bloo got upset with his reward being stolen by the pekignese rat, and he nipped at him. I was just lucky enough to have sat down to offer them treats when this had happened. Skipper lunged and attacked at Bloo's face, but Bloo was by far superior. He got the sucker nailed in seconds, but that's when it got worse.
We agree that it was because of the other attacks from my Grandma's dogs making her wary, but the one thing Cuddles cannot stand is when someone hurts Skipper or her Mom, and even though Skipper really started it, All Cuddles saw was Bloo get Skipper by the throat one step too far. She bolted at him. It happened so fast yet it seemed like an eternity. Thrice I was able to break those two apart. Every time I did though Skipper would lunge and bite at Bloo's heels, and when I tried warding him away Bloo would snap and my lack of attention on them got them tussling again. I couldn't think, well no. That's a lie, I could think, but I could not leave them. I started calling out, 'Hey!' (As this was usually what my Aunt or Mother said to break them up) I of course wasn't aiming to break them up. Well, I was, but I was also hoping to get one of their attention so I could have help controlling the situation.
Like I said, it was the third time when my mom came out, and at the most inopurtune time, since Cuddles had got Bloo by the back of the throat. After two times of HER- Keep in mind that she is the alpha- she jumped Cuddles and used all of her weight to try and hold her down. I suppose I went to help her and my mother kept telling me to stay back, she even pushed me once. I managed to get a hold of Bloo. And like every time we'd seperated these two dogs, before AND during this fight, they were calming down quickly and it would have been the end of it. But leave it to Skipper to attack Bloo another time, and she sprung up so fast she dragged my mother with her a moment before leaving her in the dust. I imagine we got them apart this last time, and my Dad finally took hold of Cuddle's collar...
That was not the end of it. My mother didn't know when (She later remembered and came to the conclusion it was when she pushed me) but Cuddles had bitten her left hand, and had pierced her middle finger. Gobs of blood are still printed on the sidewalk from how much she bled. Both of the dogs had injuries too. Bloo had a small nick on the side of his throat, and the most major wound was a nice gash on his front left leg (I swear to God that Skipper did that, not once did Cuddles go for his feet.) I heard he also got his stomach scratched up. Cuddles got out with two small cuts on the throat, one on the back and one on the side, and on her left flank and underbelly too, as well as her eyebrow and ear, they bled too. The instigator, well he got out unscathed except possibly a bruise on his throat from Bloo's first response. He was not once bitten after that. So besides my mom (I'll get to me later) everyone got out of this quarrel unscathed. But her's was severe. She had to go to the Er, and animal control had to be called.
They took Cuddles away, and will probably put her down without 'current' records that she's had a rabies shot. Well as our luck is so grand, my Aunt says she had her last rabies shot when she had this chip installed and was fixed, and it was around this time. Therefore we could either be just approaching the mark of where her shots are no longer current, or it could have like, juuuust passed. We thought the chip would be a good reading, but they just called about fifteen, twenty minutes ago saying it couldn't be read.
So either in maybe a day or two's time (I love how they treat pitbulls, don't you?) They'll put her down unless we can get her records from Chicago and pray that she's current. But even if she is, or was; she's never coming back to our home again... In fact, best case scenerio unless in the time we take to get her papers we find another owner for her without any pets, we won't know who will take her and we'll lose contact with her completely. Should we find someone though we need only pay this fine for the kenneling and quarantine, and they'll go with them. That's what I hope for, but then again it may not be a current thing, in which case I'll fight for her even then. She was not in the Animal control's dictionary considered a 'dangerous animal' and I don't think it would be inhumane to keep her alive. Damnit, she's family, and my mother and I. How often do you think with four dogs, one being a pitbull we haven't heard don't meddle in dogfights? It was all instantaneous, my mother and I both agree if the situation was like that we would have done the same thing. I once jumped in front of a speeding car to slow it down so it wouldn't hit Bloo. I know how it works with the whole adrenaline thing now, so I understand. Well, anyway, that's that.
As for me, lol. I managed like I said to break the dogs apart three times, and my mother said she was proud of how well I had handled the situation. ^^ .. Well me, I only got a bruise and bite marks on both of my hands; it happens when you put your hands in their mouths'. But don't try that normally, I've trained myself to know 'how' to do that, >> just for safety's sake. I also don't know how but I got the side of one of their teeth drilled (Not the tooth itself but a mark that looks like it) into the outside side of my left wrist. My mom thinks it will scar. >> It was worth it. As for my mom for those who are wondering, she had it gauzed up and is taking antibiotics, and in two days is to see her doctor to see if she needs anything else, as it might get infected. For now that's what we're worried about. She may need to get a rabie's shot, but that's only worst case scenerio for Cuddles, yknow?
What made this case golden was that my stepfather, whom was making dinner, had claimed to be on the phone with his mother; and said that he saw the whole thing. Well that's fun isn't it? Lol. I thought when I was calling frantically I was getting no response because they were on the other side of the house or something (I don't usually think much of things I hear all the way in the backyard from the living room myself) but he actually had witnessed the whole thing 'from the beginning' he says. He used this as a reasonable thing to say that pitbulls belonged in junkyards, not as pets. I would never really argue it, if he hadn't added that. I mean, what if something had happened? I already feel terrible for what did happen because I feel I could have somehow prevented it. I mean, maybe if I did what my mom had (She said on several occasions before she pinned Cuddles she had kicked Skipper away from Bloo) I could have stopped them and it wouldn't have gotten so far... But in my actions I considered only afterwards, what if I had gotten hurt? I bet he wouldn't have been so eager to have seen the whole thing...
Like I said, best friggin week ever...
